Maintenance and replacement policies for protective devices with imperfect repairs
This work considers setting an optimal policy for inspection, repair, and replacement (IRR) of a protective system. Failures of protective systems are hidden and can only be discovered during inspections or an actual case of emergency. The model proposed here considers maximization of expected interval availability of a protective system during a given interval of time. In this model, at any de...
متن کاملCritical infrastructure protection under imperfect attacker perception
This paper considers the problem of allocating nite resources among the elements of a critical infrastructure system in order to protect it from antagonistic attacks. Previous studies have assumed that the attacker has complete information about the utilities associated with attacks on each element. In reality, it is likely that the attacker's perception of the system is not as precise as the d...
متن کاملReducing costs by clustering maintenance activities for multiple critical units
Advances in sensor technology have enabled companies to make significant progress towards achieving condition-based maintenance (CBM). CBM provides the opportunity to perform maintenance actions more effectively. However, scheduling maintenance at the unit level may imply a high maintenance frequency at the asset level, which can be costly and undesirable for safety reasons. In this paper, we c...

The goal of this article is the analysis of Ahmadinejad government's foreign policy according to the critical theory of international relations. Whether it seems foreign policy of Mahmood Ahmadinejad, government is different from his before and after governments. Perhaps it could be provided more detailed and objective analysis from foreign policy of Islamic Republic of Iran during Ahmadinejad ...
متن کاملOptimally maintaining a Markovian deteriorating system with limited imperfect repairs
We consider the problem of optimally maintaining a periodically inspected system that deteriorates according to a discrete-time Markov process and has a limit on the number of repairs that can be performed before it must be replaced. After each inspection, a decision maker must decide whether to repair the system, replace it with a new one, or leave it operating until the next inspection, where...
